Architectural Engineering (ARE)

The Architectural Engineering Department was originally established in 1975 under the College of Engineering Sciences. In 1980, the program formed the nucleus of the newly established College of Environmental Design. The program aims to prepare high school graduates for professional engineering careers in the construction industry.

Since its establishment, the Architectural Engineering Department has successfully provided the Saudi Arabian Government as well as private sector with many top quality Architectural Engineers. The Department has since been been recognized internationally by the American Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). This organization which evaluates all Engineering Schools in the US has declared the KFUPM Architectural Engineering Department to be equivalent to the very good Architectural Engineering programs in the US.
