Earth Sciences (ES)

Earth sciences are the most relevant subjects at KFUPM because of their obvious bearing on the petroleum and minerals. Ever since the establishment of this University in 1963 AD, this Department has been in the forefront of all academic activities. The Department deals with important disciplines for the study, exploration, mining and use of all natural resources including petroleum, minerals and water. The disciplines involved in major construction works of buildings, dams, roads, etc. are also covered by the Earth Sciences Department. These studies also provide an insight to current environmental issues.
